Pulitzer Prize editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson spread her wings and created Family Tree, allowing her to write and draw outside the left/right, headline-driven box of daily editorial cartooning. A contemporary family comic strip, it chronicles the humorous challenges that Ames, Maggie, Twig and Teddy encounter when trying to live "green" and with environmental purpose.

Ending poverty is a great idea, as long as those who possess the most are willing to stop grabbing more and share what they have. Peace is wonderful, as long as one side doesn’t maintain its intent to do violence upon everyone else. “Shake hands and be friends” with the class bully doesn’t do much if the bully punches you as soon as the teacher’s back is turned. Even Jesus recognized this has to work both ways when he said “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.”

And the answer is,“We are not hive insects so get over yourself.” There will always be poverty as long as there are those who do not want to work.

“You don’t need to know anything about science to tell people how to live better lives.”
No. All you need is a big fat mouth and a boat load of arrogance.

And, Zoidknight, those who cannot find work. And those that work and are still living in poverty.
