    Philanthropist now. But he destroyed many thousands of American software jobs (at Microsoft and other companies) by pushing for offshoring and importing H1B visa techies.

    I wish they’d just say “we need H1B’s to gut the wages of US IT personnel” and admit it. I’d be just as mad about it, but at least they’d be telling the truth. I could find staffing for 500 positions with experienced people by the close of business a week from today, and I’m not kidding a bit. But I can’t do that for 20K per position, and that’s the kind of nonsense that gets peddled in Congress as “we can’t find qualified people”. At those rates, no, not in the USA because you can’t pay your school loans and eat at those rates.
