   As all you moms know, to a toddler in a highchair, be it peas or spinach or spaghtti. If it’s on the tray, then it is FINGER FOOD!!

   Good morning, Vagabonds: Yesterday, I made myself a small bowl of oatmeal and chocolate milk. I should NOT have carried both bowl and glass of milk to the dining room table at the same time. As I exited through the kitchen door, I wondered if I was gonna spill anything and suddenly felt myself slipping. Next thing I knew, my chocolate milk went all over the floor along with the oatmeal and I was down on the floor. It took me 5 minutes to pick myself up. No broken bones, just a pain in my bad leg where I already have an artificial hip. The trick to falling is to let yourself fall and not to fight it. I still don’t know what caused me to slip, but after mopping up the mess, I was in no mood for breakfast.

   I decided the best thing to do was to take a looong nap. Finally, I went out to Walgreens and Office Max by bus to develop photos and do some photocopying. Returned home to clean the mop head in a bucket of clorox and water.

   My first guess to your Trivia, david was Sammy Davis, Jr! He made that famous. Then, I realized his song was “I gotta be free” not “I just wanna be free”. It’s early, I don’t wake my brain up until after I’ve had my coffee!

   I discovered a new “oxymoron” today. “California Logic” (I’m allowed to make fun of CA having spent 58 of my 62 years there.) It seems that gasoline consumption has decreased in CA due to the recession and unemployment and consequently so has revenue from gasoline tax. California logic answer? Raise the gasoline tax rate. Gotta maintain that revenue stream.
   

   
   Still deep in “the miseries”. Yesterday’s work schedule was just as bad as anticipated, and I didn’t get much rest. I don’t plan on doing much of anything this weekend.

    @JanCinLV: We have something of the same mind set here in Ma. The Gov. has proposed some revenue (Taxes) raising ideas similar to that. Some brains want to charge you by the number of miles you drive. Sort of tolls without toll booths.

    My Mountain Man read a news article about Los Angeles city……..they will be voting on this next Tuesday…….to raise the sales tax to 9 1/2 % to keep the police force as is.
    

    
    It seems as soon as the “police” force is mentioned, the voters automatically vote for increases. I am soooooooooo glad we moved out of L.A. county!!!!!!! (of course, I am spoiled with NO sales tax here in Montana)

    Slim, it has been a looooong time since I had to deal with a toddler in a high chair. The motto is keep lots of napkins handy!
    I can remember when Mike was in that stage. We took him to our favorite pizza place (Mamma Cozza’s in Anaheim – you can’t beat it!) and cut up a slice into bits for him. He ate every piece, but not before he had sauce all over everywhere. He’s been hooked on their pizza ever since. He’s the only one in the family left in Orange County and goes and “has a slice for us” as often as he can. (BTW, Cozza’s was featured on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” a while back. You can find the link on the restaurant’s website www.mamacozzas.com. The owner/chef being interviewed was a friend in high school.)

    Bobalew got it right. “I Just Wanna Be Free” was done by none other than Darla Hood of Little Rascals fame. She also sang the advertising jingles for Chicken of the Sea Tuna and Campbell’s Soup.
