    Hola david & dkram: A very rainy day here in South Fla! After a beautiful warm winter, our rainy season seems to have started about a month early. I guess it’s a beautiful sunny day in Vermont. :-) Camera is turned facing south for the Lauderdale Air Show weekend….but it’s dismal at the beach this morning! BEACHCAM

    Good Morning, Villagers,

    I’ll check your beachcam during the day, Florchi. I’d love to see the air show!

    Indy Car race is on this morning, from Sao Pao, Brazil. It’s a street course, and should be lots of fun.

    @Montana Lady

    With all the cloud cover, the beach camera may be too far north of the show space to see much today. If they fly today (and weather may not permit), USAF Thunderbirds scheduled for approx. 3:15 p.m. Fleet Week ships at Port Everglades, incl. USS Wasp, will be leaving today and/or tomorrow – I’m going to try to catch some of the departures at portevergladeswebcam.com
    Very poor visibility at the port right now. A good day to watch a car race on tv. :-)

    Good morning vagabonds. I arrived in NY yesterday morning tired from lack of sleep. It was really cold for late April in NY. I arrived home with a high pile of NY Daily News that a friend had left for me plus 5 months worth of mail. The letter I really prized was from my high school English teacher who I have not seen for 60 years! I had found her present address (she’s in her 80s) and mailed her a copy of my self-published fantasy fiction book, “The Promise of Bisibi.” Her reply was very warm and she had already read the 1st two episodes of my book and remembered me from my high school compositions and story projects.

    PS The Canadian stamps on my English teacher’s envelope were of a lady bug and a monarch butterfly caterpiller. In high school I had wanted to be an entomologist. I remember travelling with my parents from Canada to Vermont (my father was born in Ottawa) and at the border I saw some monarch caterpillers chomping on milkweed. I put a few in my jar with some milkweed leaves. By the time we reached Yonkers, NY they had spun coccoons and, a few days later, emerged as monarchs. I would never do that again as I may have messed up their navigation route.
