REX MORGAN: Hopefully, we’ll find out tomorrow what is so exiting about Rex being about the poolside.
MARY WORTH: It looks like the cake maker is idolizing Mary Worth…
…and Greg is isolizing Margo in APT3G

Rex Morgan – I’m guessing that Rex just has a bunch of pool bunnies hanging all over him is all.

Phantom – I read an article in the National Wildlife magazine called “On the trail of the ghost cat” which reminded me of this story. Ghost cat is another name for cougars or mountain lions. It seems that changing habitat, due to climate and human encroachment, is changing the cougar’s behavior.
JP – $10,000 is the usual monthly deposit for a college student?
MW – Eeew! I can think of some better ideas. Why not make the cake blue and have dolphins jumping out? Or make a tiered cake with trees, rock and a waterfall? Let’s have a contest here!

REX: June appears to be shocked…is Delores pointing to Rex…or to something else? Are we assuming that the comment in panel 3 is a follow-on to the comment in panel 1 (what about the “Ahhhhhh!” in panel 2?). This is suspenseful and hopefully we will see why June appears taken aback or stunned when we get tomorrow’s strip. @david – that’s a good guess, but I think June might just be amused and not look genuinely shocked.
MARK TRAIL: The last time I was bass fishing in a boat was 2 1/2 years ago…actually I was paddling the canoe and my son was doing the fishing (on a no-name lake in the Ocala Natl. Forest). I am enjoying this story and think it has potential…and Jack Elrod has been giving us a lot of nice artwork (e.g., last Monday, last Thursday & today).
APT 3-G: Greg is in 3-J, but did we ever see Evan leave Margo’s apt. Is she in 3-G? If so, where are Tommie & LuAnn? (3-G = 3 Gals living in the apt.)
JUDGE PARKER: This isn’t exactly related to today’s strip, but I’m going out on another limb and predicting that we will go back to Cherry Creek Lodge (Avery & Bea) @ sometime in the future. It might be a great place for one of the regular characters to go for recovery after some sort of trauma (emotional or physical). Time will tell…. :-)

Mary Worth: Honestly, if they are going to do a story about television cake competitions, could they not be bothered to watch even ONE of the many examples on TV nowadays? Hint to the artists: they NEVER feature round, two-layer cakes…

Phantom: How did they know that they needed a new lion? Did the GPS device tell them that lion #5 was gone? How many lions are there in the area? They seem to have no trouble finding them.
Mary Worth: I don’t see that cake as being a winner. Looks like an ordinary cake, nothing being special about it.

A3G – I think Tommie and Lu Ann were both going away for the holidays (and it’s still Christmas in comicsland). Evan might hang around if he wants to see Margo opening the package, but since she’s asleep….. If it’s a bomb, he wouldn’t want to hang around. I was hoping Greg would get a more rational-based premonition. The moon is too bright and the city too quiet doesn’t make sense at all, but he needs to act on his gut feeling that something is wrong.
