MARY WORTH: Gina, aren’t you glad you were persistent in trying to contact Bobby. I hope the team manager os present at the wedding and that he’s ashamed for not forwarding Gina’s message to Bobby.
APT3G: I thought margo had a loving mother, even if she does dabble in the occulkt.
REX MORGAN: Iris is melting. I wonder how she’ll relate to Mabel at the funeral.

FOXTROT: Reminds me of the last weekend in April, here in South Florida.
PHANTOM: So Vincente is Victor’s son – what is Ernesto’s son’s name?
MARK TRAIL: Huh? Yesterday Mark was about to check his email and then get his rod and tackle box…today’s he’s strolling with Cherry. We thought the email was going to send him off a new adventure….maybe today’s phone call will do that.
REX MORGAN: I hope we eventually learn what the title of Foster’s manuscript refers to (“Chasing Mildred”).

Mandrake – The incomplete “lost chord” hurts their ears, or is that one of Mandrake’s tricks?
All other strips are just fillers today and do not move the plot forward.

CHASING MIDNIGHT (book): Regarding your question 2 days ago re Ford’s comment – would still appreciate it if you could paraphrase what he said. BTW, I happened to find an amazon.com page where a lot of Randy Wayne White fans are of the same opinion I expressed in my earlier review of the “Midnight” book – posted here sometime back.

@Florchi
I returned Chasing Midnight to the library and had hoped to reread the passage about Florida. Ford had said some don’t like Florida because there are no seasons. He said everyday is like a season as its cold in the morning (winter), hot at midday (summer), and cool in the evening (autumn.) I still have the book on cd and may listen to the end and share his exact words if i can find it. I’ll have to go back and find your review of Midnight now that i’ve finished it.

CHASING MIDNIGHT (book): I deleted the review post – but here’s a copy. See the REVIEWS & COMMENTS link above – I wrote this before I saw those.
@Teh: Here’s my comment re Randy Wayne White’s “Chasing Midnight” novel (#19 in the Doc Ford series, 1990-2011). I have been reading these novels since the late 90s & while I remain a fan of RWW & Doctor Marion Ford, I have returned the last two books to the library only half read (“Night Vision” & "Midnight). The earlier novels in the series seemed to be more about Sanibel Island and Southwest Florida – albeit some interjections and travel that involved Ford’s mysterious special operations forces/black ops past. But the earlier books had more about Florida, relationships, the Sanibel marina, and interesting marine biology – while the newer stories seem to have veered more into almost non-stop black ops. Maybe it’s a “guy thing” ( maybe guys like all the black ops stuff). As a bespectacled marine biologist with a special ops past and skills, Ford is a superhero of sorts – but I liked the stories better when, IMHO, there was more of a balance between his “Clark Kent” persona and his “Superman” persona. I’d like to see your comments after you finish the book.
