    Good morning, everybody…

It’s “National Mulled Cider Day,” today.

This recipe fits the definition of “mulled” in my dictionary.

    Hot Spiced Cider

    1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
    1 – 3” stick cinnamon
    3 slices lemon
    1 quart sweet cider (imperial quart / 1.137 litres) (sweet = non-alcoholic)
    1/3 cup brown sugar

Tie cloves, cinnamon and lemon slices in cheesecloth bag.
Heat cider and brown sugar to boiling; add spice bag; let simmer 10 minutes.
Remove bag; serve cider in mugs with dash of nutmeg on top.
    Serves 5.
Note from me, for an extra “kick,” use hard (alcohol) cider, and when mulled, mix room temperature un-mulled hard cider, and mulled cider 1/2 & 1/2.

On this day in 1962, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta founded the United Farm Workers union.

The U.F.W. is still fighting hard for the rights of farm workers. (As well it should.)

    Good morning all!

It boggles the mind that with all the modern advancements in science, technology, communication, and social structures that countries still can have monarchs, and the people still buy into it.

Good afternoon all! That’s what I get for taking some vacation days! LOL! Busy morning! And since our office is in a co-location rental agreement with the Feds, if the government shuts down, we technically are not allowed to be here, so we will have to shut down as well.

    Hola LOCOS.
JOHNNY, I understand that the Queen is mostly a figurehead and the country is run by the politicians. Call me a romantic, but I don’t care. The idea of monarchy has long had biblical roots, and also gives some of us a sense of historical roots. However, I know there are complaints about money- never mind that politicians are richer than the monarch, and are currently more of a threat to the common people that she will ever be.

But I speak for myself and dwindling monarchists in Canada and Britian.

Care for a Boston tea party to celebrate the Queen’s birthday?

    Hi Shika.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess I am glad to be in the U.S. then. And yes, I had myself a cup of coffee today. Up the rebels!

Well, looks like I will be working regardless. The FEDS said we can work, we just can’t get into their office, files or computers and use their stuff! LOL! These folks in power need to know how we deal with things ON A REAL LEVEL, DAY TO DAY, YEARS OF FRIENDSHIPS, celebrating life and birthdays, and holidays, being there for each other when things go bad, and so on and so on.

    Goodnight all!
