    Good morning, everybody…

As lengua in Spanish is tongue in English, I posted a tongue recipe at the English “Baldo.”

It’s “National Cream-filled Doughnut Day” today. I couldn’t find a recipe in my own books, so here is a link to one on the web.

On this day in 1814, Francis Scott Key wrote “The Star Spangled Banner.” The lyrics were his, but the music was not. I do not know if it is truth or legend, but the tune is said to belong originally to a pub drinking song.

good morning and happy saturday locos. Today Yom Kippur is observed. Shika I don’t really celebrate it since it’s the most religious holiday of the year, and I’m not really religious. It’s meant to spent in prayer asking for forgiveness. I do light the candle for my mom since she deserves to be remembered and know she was loved and is missed. I try to see if I can fast, but I’ve only done that for the last few years. I’m sure there are additional things that need to be done today since it falls on the Sabbath, but I have no idea what those would be.
Also on the calendar for Nicaragua is Batalla de San Jacinto

A wonderful entree of college football on the plate today followed by a great slab of baseball games for desert. I love the fall!

Don’t eat many doughnuts, but crème filled, WHITE cream filled, are my favorites! Yummy! And then the all chocolate ones, with glazed icing.

    Don’t rush summer!!

It’s not fall until Sunday, September, 22 2013.

At the140 miles/second we are orbiting the centre of the MIlky Way, we have better than

84,672,000 miles to go before it’s fall.

I don’t eat many donuts but if I have a pastry it is usually an apple fritter. No one has ome close to matching my mother’s cake donuts; really crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I don’t even try the store cake donuts which are uniformly soft.

Thank you for explaining Yom Kippur to me AKENTA. I should know these things, but if I recall, Yom Kippur is my mentioned specifically in our Old Testsment, although Passover and the Sabbath are. Some customs came later.
