Well, I got in late from yet another hockey game which we won 8-4. It was
GRITS!
No need to worry about me barbecuing any time soon. Congratulations on the new job, Akenta! I hope you love it! Meanwhile, what’s on tap?

good morning and happy saturday locos No holidays on my calendar today, just more of tabby’s bday month celebration. I did have to go back and read the comments for Daddy’s Home. It’s so cool when the person who does the comic also comments, but I read that strip on another site (because, well, it’s another site)

Good morning Locos!
Woke up to a wintry mix, yesterday was warm and sunny. I see the light at the end of the winter!

Slow, slow day here.
I almost broke a leg slipping on ice while getting on the bus. Looked like pavement when I stepped on it.

Now I have to go read the comments on Daddy’s Home. Because Akenta has piqued my interest.

And for tomorrow,
“May the road rise up to meet you,” although that sounds like a fall. But hey! It’s an Irish blessing.
“And may the sun shine warm upon your back….”

I will be wearing ALL BLACK tomorrow. I HATE St. Patrick’s Day.

Hi JFri. Not everyone likes St. Patrick’s Day for one reason or another. To me, it’s just another holiday, and since I’m part Irish and one of my best friends is from Southern Ireland, I keep the peace by keeping things light.
I take the best from each country or celebration thereof with a little of the spirit of acceptance.
But there’s nothing to say anyone has to wear green. I’ll bet you look sharp in black. ;-)

On that note, this Shika was brought to you by a Shika who will be one very tired lady at church if she doesn’t smarten up and get to bed.
click! off goes the light.

My history on St. Patrick’s Day is as follows: 1972, Mt. Hood, Multopor Ski Bowl, Gun Site Notch – Double Black Diamond Run. Caught my ski tip in the notch due to poor grooming of the trail. Tumbled 500 yards down slope, tore right shoulder 2’ out of the socket. Bad news? Right arm. REALLY bad news? I drove a stick shift Scout II.
1985 (13 years later). Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Missed 15’ drop off due to shadows disappearing as it was nearly noon) on a 3 wheeler while running at 50 mph. Shattered right shoulder into 54 pieces.
1998 (13 years later). STAYED HOME!
