Looks like the common hoi polloi won’t be going hungry for a while. Gotta wonder what the insiders eat, though…

I see two factions arising: Pro-life vs Pro-omelet..

If they’re parthenogenic, they may lay eggs on a regular cycle, regardless of mating (it’s that time of month again …), in which case eating the unfertilized eggs makes sense. While they couldn’t survive SOLELY on eggs, eating them at least “recycles” most of the protein/calcium, reducing what would otherwise be a major nutritional drain.

    Okay.
    .
So the lizards have been compared to Nazis (and Serbs come to mind in Bosnia, while we’re at it). Eliminated all other species, considered undesirable.
    .
Now, finally, we see the women of this society.
    .
Cordoned off, in a bizarre hatchery which fulfills all speculations about it – nursery and pantry.
    .
Honestly, the only positive thing Piotr tried to show her were the “ditto” guards, but that blew up, too.
    .
What the heck is Sarah hanging around for?

“What the heck is Sarah hanging around for?”

What makes you think she has the option of leaving? Her compatriots are locked up as hostages, she’s got no weapons, food or water, and she’d never make it past the guards to get outside. And once outside she couldn’t avoid the colony’s scouts, and she’s got no GPS, compass or map for figuring out how to exit this zone.

But…what are the feeding the females to make eggs?

  12. RockHouse

I’d rather not think about what THEY eat to generate the eggs.

I’ll bet that Jim, Holly, and Wally won’t like it, either

Well I was half right in nursery.
The food part now is interesting.
Think how they decide which one to eat.
A quick DNA test would show which one will be lizard and which one will be “other”.
That would mean just because Lizard mates with Lizard you may not get Lizard as a hatchling. Effects of the virus I would imagine.

Not likely. Before Phil barged in the fearless leader had mentioned that he planned to let Wally go. He wouldn’t have done that if nonreptilians were considered an important source of protein. I’m guessing that the food producing mutants (cows, chickens, lizardettes ect…) are ignoring the laws of physics which state that you can’t get something from nothing. Heck, mutation already thumbs its nose at the rules of physics and biology, so why not eggs for free?
