Distraction from dislocated shoulder? Running is really uncomfortable with a dislocated shoulder. C’mon Holly, quit running away, and run toward your future with Wally.

Holly supposedly had a broken arm, when the injury first happened. She must have thought it was, and so did Wally, but to me it’s looking a lot more like it was a dislocated elbow. That’s why she can manage with just a sling and not a splint or cast.

Those eyes: Feigned ingenuousness that barely conceals a raging turmoil underneath. This Neathery guy, can he cartoon or what?!!

Why did that skit by Cheech and Chong about the “big brave motorcycle rider” come to mind?

I’m reminded of a picture by Mary Engelbreight that shows a profile of a girl with a rose in her hand and the caption being “I’m okay. Really, I’m okay.” I always imagined a bloody hachet in her hidden hand.

The 396 definitions of “I’m fine” have yet to be documented by the male of our species.

If I’m recalling correctly, Wally had to set the break. That suggests that the arm really was broken. Granted, you’re the doctor and I merely an engineer.

    @Merri

Beyond that, they have a long way to go and a limited food supply, so it probably isn’t wise to be burning up energy.

Nope, REALLY not okay. Race you!?! To where, there’s only miles of flat, open, and powdered terrain. This isn’t going to be good. There’s going to be headlights coming in the near future, I just know it.

    On the run
    It’s not fun
    When her heart
    Weighs a ton

    But the break
    May not take
    If this part’s
    A mistake

    She is quick
    But her trick
    Leaves her still
    Hurt and sick

    For inside
    Something’s died
    Wally’s in
    For a ride

The Holly in the first panel is obviously someone carrying a weight on their shoulders much to heavy to bear.

As for the wisdom of running: it’s going to raise a dust trail making them both easily noticed and easy to find.
