One wonders if Mallardo duck Vinci is still in the place. He’s not showed up in months.

being a relative newcomer to this strip, I am frequently lost in what is going on. Some how I get an idea of what is happening and I keep coming back everyday.

You can still (like always) read from the beginning. A big job, but worth it.

No! Don’t give away all our secrets! Next, he’ll start trying to think for himself, and where will that leave the rest of us?

And thus all the loose ends are tied together and Wally can actually start moving forward again.

It would be well, well worth your while to go back to http://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2009/01/19 and read from the beginning. It is, for the most part, some of the best story-telling around.

I concur with the advice from the other readers. But to make a long story short, this is a post-apocalyptic story where part of the human race have been accidentally mutated into talking animals. The other humans are forced to live in sterilized, pressurized colonies on the surface while the mutants hide from the “Topsiders” in underground cities like Endtown. A few of the “mutants,” such as Al here, didn’t change, but still look human. But the Topsiders hate mutants like Al as much as the other mutants because Al can breathe the atmosphere without fear of contamination. Al’s wife. By the way, is a rhinoceros.

Keebler Elves. The posters are “uncommonly good”.

    @Three Steps Over Japan

    Same ones do Walter’s posters.
Cover both sides that way insuring being on the winning side.
You know there is a mission Wally can go on. Would take a while. Lots of looking around.
Search out and destroy that satellite system either bring it down by programing reentry or take out the command and control.
The Topsiders would never look in their backyard for a threat.
    Flask is gone.
They don’t give the rest of the mutants any credit.
Let’s see who would go……Holly for sure, and lovely Linda. What does she have to lose now? Find her child she will. Search for she shall.
Linda may even know the location of the control center. Just no one ever asked her.

Isn’t it curious that in a world that would have to be as large as this that Endtown, one of the largest, most sophisticated mutant colonies would be in walking distance of a major Topsider outpost. I’m assuming the fact that it is tasked with the job of launching a rocket would make it major.

Since most of the action takes place within the confines of Hillside, we don’t know how extensive the Topsider network is but I have the impression that it may be world wide. Otherwise their hopes of killing all mutants is not even a pipe dream.

When you use an “enemy” to gain power you need more “enemies” to keep the ball rolling. So Allgood is dead and now as I said in the past, we move on to labeling any non anthros as ‘Topsiders’ the enemies among us.

Animals are People too. And People are Topsiders who want to kill Animals. Therefore, Everyone should kill Everyone. Isn’t that how we got into this apocalyptic mess in the first place?
