She was a food collector. She knows that that stash of food is not going to last very much longer. I bet on the pro distribution of what ever is edible, eggs, milk….. this is important. Yeah she is for.

    The Spaniel

    We were all just humans
    And that story’s growing old
    We had squandered our defenses
On a rocket full of mutagenic
    Viruses
    And Amesworth rays
    But our worst fears
    In those frightened years
Was to haunt us all our days

When I left my town and my family
    They were monsters every one
I’d been napping through the dangers
And my quiet little family turned nightmare fuel
    Screaming loud
    Screeching from my runied quarters
To where changed ones all would go
Looking for some sense in what the mirrors showed

    Lie la lie…

    Asking only for some answers
I was running for my life
    But I found no shelter
Just a rumor of an underground of refugees
I wound up there — and there’s times when I am so lonesome
    That death seems only fair

    Lie la lie …

Then I’m watching shows and scavenging
    And wishing I had food
    Something good
Besides Chef Maurice’s beans and those old protein cakes
    Protein cakes and the beans

In the movies sits a spaniel
    And a scavenger by trade
    And he carries the reminders
Of every Topside haul he found
And Topside mutts he’d spied out
He would kill them all the same
“They were mutants, they were mutants”
Now he’s hounded by the pain

    Lie la lie …

I’ve missed Allie (among others). I hope she sticks for a while. I really miss Philomena, though.

    @dirtyoldlady1

    “She was a food collector.”

She was also 9/10ths living in a bottle. She may not play well with others right now.

Oh, nicely done, Level Head! I didn’t even need the link, I placed the song right away. :)

Just reading yesterday’s strip. The radio stations are on E.C C. That must stand for Endtown Closed Circuit.

I’m beginning to wonder if Spike’s little sidestory is a commentary on people tuning out important issues that don’t affect them directly, or a sly jab at readers getting tired of this storyline

I’ll leave out the inappropriate method of voicing dissatisfaction that other people have used in the past, but yeah, I’m tired of it too. I was interested up until the rats started shooting, now I just want to see Al kill ’em all with a sack of canned beans so we can move to the next story.

Is Casablanca one of the surviving films?
‘… the problems of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world…’
    ‘Beeeeaaaans! Aaaargh!’ cries the audience.
