A square mayor in a round hole…in more ways than one.

The rats are of course being mean
    Many Endtowner sizes are seen
    Tiny worms play as bait
    Gustine, Cooper are great
Surely all routes aren’t stuck in between!

Each new mutant did his own “evolve”
With new size, other problems to solve
    So this too-small path sticks
They are just being … mean
Just to test the good mayor’s resolve.

Rat: "We’re not doing this to be mean, or to be sticklers for the rules. We just think the youtube video is going to get us a ton of “likes” when we’re done…"

Just in case anyone forgot this is a comic strip.

And remember to vote early and often for Endtown 2.0, Doc Rat, and Endtown at topwebcomics.com. Let’s try to salvage this month for all three. Today is the 26th of a 28day month, but TWC is on Pacific Standard Time, so we have until 2AM Central Time Friday AM to stuff those ballots.

Why do we have eighteen(18) weeks of Standard Time and thirty four(34) weeks of special, Daylight Saving Time?

    Sincerely and Respectfully,

    Stuck in a Hole

    (to this Beatles tune)

I’m stuck in a hole to the bunker room
It’s stopped my bulk from traveling
    Where it should go

The rats making cracks from down on the floor
    They’d see my plans unraveling
    So I should go

It really doesn’t matter if the Doc is mad
    Or that the fishing’s bad
    It won’t be long

All these rats are standing pointing guns at me with feral grin
I wonder why I ever came this far

I’m thinking of this in a brand new way
    Imagining it’s Dottie there
    So I will go

It really doesn’t matter if I live or die
    I’m gonna help that’s why
    Here I belong

    So the plunger’s helping me
    My dignity
Is never gonna try to make it past this floor

    I’m steeling myself
    For a number of things
    That weren’t important yesterday
    And I’ll still go

I’m stuck in a hole to the bunker room
I’m stopped, so far, from finishing
    But I will go

Why does getting stuck in a hole inspire bursts of song?

I suppose the Security Rats did this strip-Walter-of-dignity thing because they can…

I’ll be glad when the “government parody” arc is done and the strip moves on to something else.

‘Be honest … am I a teensy bit fat?
’Please … it takes time to properly sugarcoat a response…’
That aside … I’m not sure he’d have made it through that hole even if he had reached his ideal weight .. .whatever that is…

This writing is Aaron Neathery at his finest, in my humble opinion. I read it, and I thought for a moment, and then I said: “Yup, works for me.”
We have a story set in a political pressure cooker, with characters whom we have grown to know and love, each for his and her own cares and travails,we have people locked up at gunpoint, dispossessed and stripped their rights, we have a cast of players who, motivated by fear as they may be, are mere pawns to some unknown despotic power… and to solve the crisis, we witness a cowardly, untidy, fat slob of a bear who has to be winched in a harness through a small hole.
I have just never seen a story like this. It is brilliant. It has such extreme… well… bathos.
    Bravo from me.
