It's the End of Civilization as we know it. A mutagenic plague followed by a global war fought with disintegration weaponry has left much of the Earth a desert of fine powder and what remains of humanity fragmented into humans, animal-like mutants and bloodthirsty monstrosities with lots of teeth. The surface, still teeming with the mutagenic virus, has become the domain of the dreaded Topsiders; well-organized, technologically advanced, and heavily armed un-mutated humans sworn to exterminate mutations of any kind in order to clear the way for the eventual resurgence of a new, genetically clean humanity. Faced with annihilation, mutants and "impure" humans have retreated into the depths of the planet to form communities and hope to win, or at least survive, what may prove to be mankind's final war. Endtown is the continuing story of one of those communities.

Hmm.. Milk, Eggs, Chocolate and Sugar, I hope her next stop is a house full of wheat people to get flower! ;D
Wait… that won’t make sense, I guess one from dried beans will suffice.

Yup, eggs. Remember how Maude was at the same time, ashamed and defensive, and sort of defiant about her ability to give milk? She owned her body’s new ‘skill’ by saying “Hey, it’s what I do.” But this chicken/person is ashamed of her eggs. – I think before Linda’s done, she’s going to show a lot of people that their ‘newer’ bodies come with some remarkable fringe benefits.

Horray. Aaron you kicked up again. We are really going to enjoy making this cake. Well not as much fun as AM’s banquet , no cheeze or wine. I think you have hit a jackpot.
So she adopts an old man instead of a orphan. So be it.
Love ya.

I wonder what the reprucussions will be…

The hen looks embarrassed at having to dispose of them. I’d guess that they’re unfertilized, meaning that if she is sexually active and trying to have offspring, that she’s not successful this time.

Aaron – I hope the doctor visit went ok! What’s the prognosis?

Is Arron sick? I hope it’s going to be OK!
That was an embarrassed hen for sure. This may be a real breakthrough for End town citizens!

As a celiac, I can vouch for the superior flavor of soya flour over regular bean flour. And I thought Maude ran the underground market on rare goodies. In six or seven years Linda is the first to set up an underground market?
Oh Trudy, Trudy, Trudy.

We see this is an upscale bird
She has a house! A yard! My word!
The house is topped by snow-proof peak
(A thing less useful than her beak)
In style, this likely can’t be be beat
(Such flaunted wealth seems indiscreet)
But still the chicken looks bereft
And Linda took her trash.
That’s theft.
She’s risking much for Mr. Hopper
And her approach may come a-cropper
Her wondrous add-on to his diet
Will likely cause an Endtown riot.

Yes, Aaron is sick. It’s his leg infection again. It went red and sore, all of a sudden on Saturday night, and his temperature started to climb. He went to hospital, and he stayed in for some initial intravenous doses of antibiotics. Following that, he can have tablets. I don’t think he will be as sick as he was the first time, a year and a half ago, because things then became a lot more complicated. This time with the benefit of accrued knowledge, it may be easier to solve the problem promptly.
Still even though he was in a hospital bed, Aaron was still drawing. He couldn’t afford the down time, even when he is sick.
That’s what you folk – we readers – are getting when we read Endtown. A creative genius (an I am not using this term lightly) is literally giving his all to keep producing one of the best comic strips in the world. He will keep on giving his all for as long as it takes until it’s successfully paying him a living income (and then some) or he exhausts himself and Endtown has to stop.
These are the stakes we are playing for. Aaron has sacrificed more that you all realize, because he believes Endtown is the best thing he can ever do. And he so believes this that he keeps on going, and going, and going.
How can you help? Well, do everything you can to help keep this hero going. Create as many new followers as you can. Spread the word. Get it known on podcasts, radio programs, web sites, magazines. Take the chance and send letters to people who could have some influence. Buy a copy of the books and send them to someone. Buy copies of his prints for yourself. (He’s too stretched for time to take on many new commissions.) Or just send him money. Or just send him a letter to tell him how much you’re on his side. Or just make him smile.
I really have faith in him, personally. I have faith in the value of his body of work so far, and I have faith in the value of his ability to create. Thre is real, tangible value there, and it to the honour of us all. It will pay off, one day, for sure – as long as we as a group can keep the flame alight.
Aaron goes beyond the call of duty to enrich your life. Surely in his time of need, you can also go beyond for him.

Actually flourless chocolate cakes are quite common and only require eggs, sugar, milk, butter, and chocolate. I’ve made one myself and they are very delicious.

I have stated before that I am a fan of anime. This reminds me of Bakuman. In Bakuman season 2 episode 7 Mashiro, one of the main characters, is hospitalized, but insists on continuing to draw from his hospital bed to meet his deadline.
I hope that Aaron doesn’t over exert himself. We, the fans, wish him well, and hope he gets well soon!
