It's the End of Civilization as we know it. A mutagenic plague followed by a global war fought with disintegration weaponry has left much of the Earth a desert of fine powder and what remains of humanity fragmented into humans, animal-like mutants and bloodthirsty monstrosities with lots of teeth. The surface, still teeming with the mutagenic virus, has become the domain of the dreaded Topsiders; well-organized, technologically advanced, and heavily armed un-mutated humans sworn to exterminate mutations of any kind in order to clear the way for the eventual resurgence of a new, genetically clean humanity. Faced with annihilation, mutants and "impure" humans have retreated into the depths of the planet to form communities and hope to win, or at least survive, what may prove to be mankind's final war. Endtown is the continuing story of one of those communities.

WTF? So it’s all a dream? Well, the only one who knows for sure is Mr. Neathery, let’s see where this goes, buckle up for the ride!

It seems to be a dream
PT in her apartment?
These things aren’t as they seem
But who knows what this part meant?
The final panel’s grim
A splattering, and gory
But understanding’s slim
Till deeper in the story…

Did Linda K run the mindwipers on brains being prepared for utility, like a zero gun or a PT
Has ANeathery shown us Flask/Blackie’s illicit mindwiper?
Could Linda in a dream state hoping to trigger a mindwipe on herself to make like bearable in a very bad case scenario?
Or is she just reliving some sex game in a sterile environment, for just the frisson of heightened anxiety?
Remember to vote early and often for Endtown and Doc Rat.

WHAT?? THE )&^%#& is going on now?? When did we see the " change me back from a monster machine" come alive. No one told me that they could do that. If so……. What stops them from doing it for everybody?? All end towners of a certain age must have been human. Therefore eligible.Guide me to this clip please. I really want to see if it works. Surely Linda isn’t the first spy to be burned for topsider"s convenience. Could me suspect the rabbit??
Or it is a trick to get her brain? Well, we pretty well know that this a dream or fallacy . But she is creating this wonderous machine???? WOW
Blessed Be

“Did Linda K run the mindwipers on brains being prepared for utility, like a zero gun or a PT "
Umm, this is a trick question, right? This is the same machine Linda was going to use to extract Wally’s and Holly’s heads.

It’s like I said in the comments for Friday’s strip – Linda is having a nightmare, confabulating the mission where her superior told her to extract a mutant’s brain for the first time. At the time, there was probably a mutant prisoner for her to work on. In the nightmare, she’s the one getting her brain removed.

Okay, gang.. Trying something a little different for the next four weeks at the Endtown Auction Block. Between now and Christmas, each hand-colored original drawing up for auction will also be available to one and all as a signed, suitable-for-framing print for only $20 (includes s&h). This week’s drawing is entitled “Holiday Rivalry” in which Holly finally gets the upper hand after being trounced by Professor Mallard and his pumpkin carving machine at Halloween. All proceeds help keep Endtown alive.. Thank you!

@Three Steps Over Japan
My error, no trick. I went back to around 20.Oct.2011 to check and you are correct to the extent this machine does look like Linda’s and Doug’s device that appears to be a upper head remover.
I guess my question becomes is if there is a separate mindwipe before putting into mechanical service, or if the transformation to just a head top somehow eradicates all memory.
Thanks for catching my mistake, although the head transmogrifier was only in a few panels, and from a different perspective. Knowing how my memory works, I still should have caught that. I should go to my Dr, but I have another bile duct stent scheduled for 10.Dec.2012, and I’ll discuss aspirational pneumonia or just ordinary pneumonia maybe brought about running a cathouse. This feels like pneumonia, but I’ll see what the people with stacks and stacks of my med history.
THANKS

Makes sense that the mindwiping happens after head harvesting. I see no provision for anesthesia. Wiping the trauma of removal (as well as identity) would make the new “processor” useable. Also easier to hookup “processor” to equipment—for wiping or whatever.

I’m still saying she sleepwalked straight over to Crazytown from Endtown. Just 2 miles south on I-295, right next to the car wash with the clown on the top of the roof that waves at people.

This question remains unanswered. We know that there is a mindwipe involved at some point, since Petey was only “mostly wiped”. Part of his personality remained to allow him to interact with Al and Gustine instead of automatically locking them out of the transporter like he was supposed to when they first met. I’d assume that the mindwipe occurs at the same time as, or slightly prior to, “job training”. No point to doing the rewiring in two steps (wiping at extraction then doing programming at machine application).
