Well, a friendly face is welcome here
And little Linda does not know her power
    She wasn’t a “yankee” before… It’s not clear
Is her new acquaintance still in the shower?

kind of like the two houses they built in the rain down the street.

My impression is that it’s not mean
Endtown malice is not what we’ve seen
    Just a casual cold
    In the bureaucrat mold
    For indifference is government’s scene

Linda’s a cutie..she’ll make a nice addition to the strip. I wonder if she’ll ever get to see her child again?

Her domicile may be revolting, but her neighbor seems friendly. Something she really needs to help her adjust.

I am impressed, but also think original art by ANeathery is still a bargain at these prices, and when I think of all the bargains missed due to financial embarassment, I get a bit jealous. Perhaps later I will indulge my Blackie yearnings.

VOTE! We have an half hour before October ends and November begins, and if I am still awake when the med nurse returns she will make certain I sleep at least six hours, then I have to report for med treatment.

I think I’ve lived in a place like that.

The EHC’s “special treatment” and expediting of a housing permit is nothing special. Linda’s learning that life’s rough for the hunted. She gets to start at the bottom and work her way down.

Man, the place looks even more of a dump than yesterday. Let’s hope there are some decent people inside…Linda really needs some friends…

Linda: “Wow, it’s just my place before The End! I wonder if the tap is still running from when I left it on before going to work that morning.”

I don’t understand why Endtown has any rundown stuff in it at all. it’s not like they took over an abandoned city with slums or something. it doesn’t make sense to me, with everythign else that they do, that they wouldn’t be right on top of making sure that their only place to live without fear of topsiders was in tiptop shape everywhere.
    .
Cities get slums and run down for a lot of reasons, none of which the endtower’s seem to have.

I have a feeling that this arc will be “the trials and tribulations of Linda Koala”. Looking forward to it.

Poor Linda! So much change! Too bad Wally or Holly are not around to help her adjust…

    @Habogee

One the one hand, Linda has to adapt to a lot that’s new and strange and scary to her…and, on the other hand, it would seem that right before she had to adapt to all this new-strange-scary stuff, she was a murderer many times over. Even if she’s forgiven—-uncertain—-the guilt of it all may consume her…

(We don’t actually see her murder anyone—-things with Wally and Holly didn’t get that far—-but it’s the implication we can draw from what we did see.)
