i dont think flask is that clueless

and it doesnt make sense for petey to react like that
the dittos never showed an illusion of the transporter being destroyed so how could he ever think the transporter was dead ?

    The relationships … odd situation
How much hint had we for this before?
Petey had to remind of the station
But it seems that (from this) there is more

I suspect that the warmth felt by Flask
Will descend to the depths of a winter
When she realizes (from Petey’s ask)
That in his world, she isn’t the center

One, Petey was (as some people have suggested) Flask’s father, or (as others have suggested), Flask’s husband/boyfriend, and she’s just now getting a chance to bask in his attentions. Two, Petey had bonded a lot more than we’d been told to that cute little unit in the next docking bay over at the TS colony.

And his worry was due to the complete disappearance without explanation of the entire party. As shown in Friday’s strip, he wasn’t convinced that the others were still alive.

Petey (not real name) feels far more affection for the person within the transporter than he does for Flask. Not surprising, since his falling out with Flask – his disgust over her actions to attempt to cruelly wipe out a city (irrespective, by the way, of how cruel many of the Topsiders themselves were to THEM).
As I once said: “Torn between two lovers, a cat and a truck.” The truck wins.

Now we see them all standing together: Flask is tall. Wally, Holly, Petey and Linda are all short. She must feel like Dorothy in Munchkinland.

Yes, she looks down on Linda
And towers quite far above her
But now we’ll see what goes inta
A cat on a hot tin lover

This all makes sense. Obviously Flask and Petey had a close relationship before, but all he retains of that is the name “Blackie”. He had a life, such as it was, as a PT, and that is the only past he really knows. I’ve always gravitated toward the father/daughter relationship because of Petey’s obvious maturity against Flask’s childish tantrums, but until Aaron chooses to let the cat out of the bag (bad pun very much intended!) we will never know for sure.

Flask has regained her voice, but I’m not sure if the rest of her is back on line yet….

DV-31265’s relationship with Petey explains why it was so easily convinced to help him and not the Topsiders.

Yeah, Koalinda in the last panel is even looking at Flask as if to say, “What’s with her? Is she really that clueless??”
