Marty Links was the creator of the comic strip “Emmy Lou” which ran in newspapers all over the world for over 35 years. Marty Links was a pioneer-- a woman cartoonist at a time when the cartoon business was really a boy’s club. For over 40 years, Marty would whisk through the San Francisco Chronicle city room delivering a weekly batch of cartoons with the same gusto as Emmy Lou would.

What? A cordless rotary phone? Why didn’t we have one of those at our house? :D

Hello? Hello?? Is the missing cord causing an interruption of the service to the comments?

Hi annieb1012! I think so! It’s an original though! Funny…I remember that missing cord years ago. Well, I guess it proves we don’t touch the artwork!!!

Well, thank goodness! I was beginning to think the line had been cut! Actually, I think it was brilliant of Marty to leave the cord out, as it would have interfered with the line of Emmy Lou’s arm and other things in the picture, and anyway, who needs it? :D

Considering who we’re talking about, I’m guessing that that’s probably his default state-of-mind.
