Marty Links was the creator of the comic strip “Emmy Lou” which ran in newspapers all over the world for over 35 years. Marty Links was a pioneer-- a woman cartoonist at a time when the cartoon business was really a boy’s club. For over 40 years, Marty would whisk through the San Francisco Chronicle city room delivering a weekly batch of cartoons with the same gusto as Emmy Lou would.

Ah, the good old days…Emmy Lou, Priscilla’s Pop, Little Iodine, Gordo, Our Boarding House, Out Our Way, Steve Canyon, Steve Roper (with Mike Nomad), Captain Easy, Bringing Up Father (Jiggs and Maggie)…there were so many, but the years took their toll, just like with people.

Klutzes are people who do not look at their surroundings so they stumble and bumble and fall. This guy maybe should not take up skiing. Wow 1970, I was 13 years old.
