Did a lot of homework on how the digital/analog thing works, did we? Well, at least it makes the “gee, it snowed, so that proves there’s no global warming” guys look a little brighter.

Then we can get back to converting everyone to the metric system :D

curiosity1, Naw, the metric system is much too simple and too accurate to learn.

oldie, why so slow? That was just me, now my brother-in-law pushes his AUDI between 135 and 165 kmph, depending on how much of a hurry he’s in. 10 kilometers is called “10kilometers”. PS You’d be surprised at how much business is conducted in the metric system,

oldie for Virginia, I’m supposed to believe it?

Actually, contrary to popular belief, the “official” measurement system of the US _is_ the metric system! Not that most people use it, except for buying soda, where it has mysteriously become the norm, while milk is still in quarts and gallons.
I translate back and forth when in Europe. A kilometer is about 3/5 of a mile, so that’s easy to convert. As for temperature:
    30 is hot (86 F)
    20 is nice (68 F)
    10 is chilly (50 F)
    0 is ice!

motive … may I add: 1 liter of water weighs 1 kilogram, freezes at 0 and boils at 100. Fun note, as a youngster I used to watch coal being loaded aboard ship. Always wondered why the rail road coal cars were annotated with tons and long tons. A long ton is a metric ton(1000 kgs).

oldie, my Dad was a Drivers Ed teacher years ago and used to say the Virginia driver was among the worst. Made a visit a year or so back … things haven’t changed.

Dave Barry on Boston drivers: “In many places, people disobey the laws of the road. In Boston, they disobey the laws of physics.”
