Our house has a clear path from the front door to the back door, with a fairly open floor plan. I usually prefer to call my wife/daughter(s) over yelling loud enough to be heard or getting my lazy butt out of my computer chair. Sometimes I will yell to one of my daughters to come in the room so I can speak in normal tones, but frankly they would prefer I call too.
