    I agree with the thinking, but I’m still going to church today.

    Jesus shreds …. God is a longboarder …. and they share the waves with Allah …. all of the world’s prophets are welcome …. it’s a pretty righteous ocean out there, although L. Ron Hubbard is notorious for dropping in ….

    Pleeeeze! An excuse to not go to church,tomeet with others, pray, and to learn about and honor God, is still an excuse.

    On the old Rick O’Shay strip, Hipshot had his ride out of town to go meet the ‘Boss’.

    William Peter Blatty’s The Ninth Configuration had an astronaut confined to a Viet Nam psychiatric ward who referred to God as "Foot’. It also was IMHO Stacey Keach’s finest performance as Killer Kane, a misplaced Special Forces Marine sent Stateside as a psychiatrist due to a computer glitch. It had very serious dark religious overtones and is one of my favorite films because it was offbeat, serious, and made you think.

    @Penny Robinson Fan Club

    I have watched it at least a dozen times (The Ninth Configuration) and that bar fight scene at the end of the film still gives me goosebumps.

    Many years ago the Rick O’Shey comic strip had a gunfighter charicter, who backed up the sheriff. Think Gene Wilder to Clevon Little in Blazing Saddles.
    One of my favorite Sunday Strips was him getting up and watching the town folk dressed up and heading for church. All the while saddling his horse.
    The last panel had him riding into a sun lite alpine medow and saying something on the order of…
    “Good Morning Boss, it’s me.”
