    yes, after WW! it chemical weapons were deemed too horrible a way for people to die. The treaty was in force in 1929 as registered by the UN predecessor League of Nations. It took 50 years for the USA to meet the requirements and become a protocol member.

    Shoot, Syria (did not sign the protocol) made the deposit in 1968 with the reservation that it did not include Israel.

    Big deal. The protocol only addresses first strikes against other nations (see can’t include Israel, oh no) and does not prohibit the use of these weapons within the confines of one’s nation during a civil war.

    Obama needs to quit running from his statement.
