   The comic is ONLY about the fact that, because of the drought, corn is only growing as high as as a healthy wheat crop.

   It’s not just the heat being over 105 for 0ver 20 days, it is also the sun. Tomatoes are splitting even though I’ve been watering them. The peas dried up and if you water in sunlight it just cooks whatever it touches
   Grainbelt, lots of farmers cant afford irrigation.

    Sadly, there has been multiple sunspot activities lately and the earth has grown warmer due to it. Drought one year, flood the next. When it’s normal the global warming whacko’s are quiet.

    Even north of the 49th the extreme heat might be a problem for the corn and other crops. Corn likes heat units and sunlight, but extreme heat when the seed should be produced is not good. Looks good because of early rainfall, but will it yield?
