Dont know about others, but currently people are paying us money to let us borrow from them :). So the “euro” can do w/e.

Currencies have, frankly(no pun intended), come and gone, and been replaced. Species have just gone. “Defense” of economies have been largely responsible for the loss, and interesting that “defense” is exactly what has brought down most of those currencies, and the “social order” that demanded war for “defense”.

I think we need the Euro. And having traveled in Europe before and after, it is SO much easier to just whip out Euros — even in countries where they are not on the Euro you can often pay in them anyway. But they need to figure out how to make it work. It’s more a confederacy than a government, after all, and we know how well THAT works…

Long term the only way for the Euro to work is for the national governments to give up sovereignty. Until there is just one government making decisions on economic policy and debt the Euro will be vulnerable to the policies of the weakest member state.
