I call that the L&O principal. The more obvious the solution the less people trust it. They are so used to falling for the obvious on shows like L&O that they now expect that there is a “Twist” to everything.
I wouldn’t be adverse to it being called the “Fine Print Principal” given that people (especially the ones who don’t actually read it) are sure that there is a clause in the fine print. A, “that’s how they getcha” clause.
me, camille claudel, sojourner, koosha mahmoud, ramona, greta garbo, frida kahlo, vareen gregory kelly, pierre and marie curie - (my 9 cats - that ought to lift you about 12 notches)
Yay! Lovefest! Me too, humphs, altho I have no idea why we’re wishing you good stuff, it never hurts, and it feels good to wish someone good health. Sorry you hate that, HowGoz…
From Max, my good dog, from Cosmo and George, who try to be good cats, and from the mouse that I can’t get out from behind my freezer…I’ll call him Bob. “Good thoughts and wishes to you, Humph!”
bcs, I changed my avatar here to show my Max-man. Now, I am not a photographer. My family says I cannot even claim to be a snapshot-taker. this is the best I got, and it ain’t great.
OK, I’ll join the party with sending Humph and everyone positive energy from me and mine–my cats Lord Humphrey (good omen there), Queen Margot and Mocha.
zan, I feel bad that Mocha has no royal title! Not Duchess (or Duke) Mocha?
My brother has an adopted ugly cat he named Sir Shackleton (sp), for the famous explorer. The cat’s a white persian, so I make fun of his pompous name by using baby talk and making sure my brother can hear me call his cat “Sir Snigglebottom”, or “Saint Slurpie-ston”, or whatever. The cat loves me, and it drives my brother crazy. Win-win!
ezdeb, cry not for Mocha. Believe me, 2 cats with titles are more than enough. 30 years ago when my kids were little we got 2 kittens and named 1 Lord Humphrey and 1 Prince Albert. So I used Lord Humphrey as the name for the current nobility. Queen Margot was so named after the Isabella Anchanti movie “Queen Margot” about the French royals of around 1640. Excellent movie and the kitten was Queen Margot personafied. Lots of drama and passion.
