And Obama just compared the health care he wants to the post office.
Nice!

I did not use 5 stamps today to pay my mid-month bills on line. It is my fault the PO is broke. Sorry.

Where I live, even UPS and FedEx lose money, but even they haven’t totally cut service. Yes, email and the internet have hit the Post Office very hard. Sorry, but mail is still cheap, and efficient, it would probably be more so if they hadn’t made it a “corporation”.

All this in the face of the monopoly Congress gave them. Nobody else may deliver a first class letter anywhere in the US. Banned.
So without being able to handle the easy stuff FedEx and UPS make a profit and the PO loses billions. Let’s give government more power, that is the solution.

Sorry, but what profit have FedEx and UPS made exactly? The only thing I could find on the topic is about FedEx, and they aren’t exactly doing very well.

Yep Wachs that danged commie Ben Franklin touted that evil Post Office and shoved it’s monopoly down our throats.

Since the USPS has been feeling the pinch, their service has suffered, too. Our mail has been getting mixed up with neighbors as far as several blocks away. A stern voice to the local postmaster tamed that delimma quickly. In April, I had my unemployment check delivered to a city more than 300 miles away!! Yes, I was more than slightly irate. But here is the kicker; it ended up being the mistake of the UIA, because a clerk mistyped my social security number, so whatever that number was was where my check went to, even though absolutely nothing else matched up. The UIA rudely insisted that I had to be living there, and I had a nice goaround with those folks. Some people just need to drink more coffee, I guess, to keep awake. After they realized and admitted their error, I was sent a remade check. They said that they just have so many claims to handle that …… and so on. That may well be true, but when a production worker has to go from making 40 parts and hour to 400 parts an hour, it is expected to be done without error. So why not them also?

Another successful, government agency run into the ground. Can’t wait for Dr.O to fulfill all our socialist fantasies.
