Sure beats having to get out of your chair to just hit the ON button on the TV…

I only need one remote to watch most of my TV – and a flash drive stuck into the flatscreen. ;)

If I need to turn on the DVR or DVD player, then those are extra remotes.

I wish you could still operate devices without having to have a remote!

How many televisions can you buy where you can make any adjustment you want without having to have a remote? And in some cases, without having the original remote that came with it?

Lots of times it is easier to get up and turn it on and off by hand, but they just don’t make televisions and other devices with enough buttons on them to do everything. Sometimes I even leave a remote on top of the TV or whatever to be sure I know where it is; I go up and walk over to the set but I still have to use the remote.

It only takes one clicker to turn ON the tv… It takes multiple clickers to manage your input and sound sources.

My TiVo acts as a universal remote on my bedroom TV. The big one in family room though, has a code that TiVo could not find, so I have to use the one from TV for on/off and

I also have an amplifier that I installed for better use with my outdoor speakers and I use THAT (without a remote) mostly for the volume and

My TiVo there is for all the channel changing as well as settings and scheduling shows.

It works well for the way I normally use it but would be difficult to leave with instructions for someone else.

Well that is what I’m going to look for if I ever have to buy a new TV…at least an on and off power button…I’m old enough to remember all of the buttons that controled the horiz.,. vert. and whatever else you wanted to fool with at your own risk of loosing the picture all together…
