Really, Zonker? Did you and your wife tie down competitors, throw used truck tires around their necks, fill the tires half full of diesel and set fire to them. Remember the good old days when ANC and SWAPO were internationally condemned as terrorist organisations trying to loot an entire country.

Sorry, I was there, look up Winnie Mandela and necklacing.

Once you are big enough to make sufficient bribes campaign contributions, you qualify for Federal subsidies and price supports.
Just like Archer Daniels Midland and the other family farmers.

    @JusSayin

How about ordering the assassination of a Swedish peace negotiator and then becoming Prime Minister of Israel?

Necklacing became began in the 1980s. At that time, Mandela was still imprisoned on Robben Island.

" Necklacing became began in the 1980s. At that time, Mandela was still imprisoned on Robben Island."

Winnie Mandela was not in prison in the 1980s. She promoted serious war crimes, and was found guilty in South Africa and International Tribunals. Winnie Mandela Wiki. New governments are nasty anywhere, I don’t see many people praising the assassination by a Zionist, not mainstream, group.

Who brought Israel into this. Besides, I did not help establish Israel, that was before my time, I did help transition from Apartheid, and reiterate, I was there.

And the apartheid regime was the toast of the world, the epitome of democracy and liberalism. Right?

Oh, and necklacing been around awhile, Winnie and ANC popularised it and put it on the front pages. Winnie was head of ANC because she was married to and communicated with Nelson while he was in prison. Wiki places him in Pollsmoor rather than Robben Island in the early 80s, and in 1988 was transferred to a prison with a private cook. At Pollsmoor, when he had the most contact with Winnie and the outside world. Nelson was a chosen figurehead because he was so clean and articulate. His continued support for Winnie after it was well established she was a glorified profiteer tarnished his manufactured history. Mandela sure as heck is not my madiba. Tutu was no saint, but orders of magnitude a more important agent of change.

Nope. That is why the United Nations, International Monetary Fund and World Bank declared it a pariah state, prohibited them from using ordinary trade relations.

South Africa has most minerals except oil. Due to the trade embargo, they implemented the Fischer-Troppes system of converting coal to extremely light sweet crude, at a cost basis of $40 a barrel. The company created to provide liquid fuel from coal is South African Synthetic Olefin Limited(SASOL), a major multinational firm.

But yeah, I was sent down to ease the transition, because everyone in Africa, and most of Eurasia, wanted to get their grubby little fingers on the wealth of South Africa the British(esp. Cecil Rhodes) and Dutch had developed, rather than trying to develop their own wealth, which is quite substantial and fallow.

Point is, we are not talking about Winnie Mandela, we are talking about Nelson Mandela.
As for the Israel reference, it is to point out that when a people are fighting for their survival they resort to extreme tactics.
It was common during the Revolutionary times in the US to tar and feather suspected loyalists.
I abhor things such as necklacing, but it is not something for which you can hold Nelson Mandela responsible.

Point remains, she was chosen her leadership position by virtue of being Nelson’s wife, spokesperson, and confidante. Nelson did promote violence to ensure his group, rather than dozens of others grabbed the reins of power. We had a better plan that would have allowed better representation of all disenfranchised parties. We were strictly limited in our actions, and could not even take action when SWAPO took one of our men. We did the best we could with the cards we were dealt even when ANC or someone else played a wild card.

Israel has disowned Lehi, and the council approved, not ordered a murder. I believe convictions were handed down and sentencing ordered for several murders. Simply because someone is a Jew or Israeli does not make them a Zionist, and at the moment Zionism threatens the existence of Israel, but I don’t know of any clean hands fighting for or against Zionism, mostly because it is not my field

That group of Zionists, and most Zionists, do not represent the will of the majority of Israelis.
