Some countries have people who deserve a dictator. After Saddam Hussein was gone, Iraqis made killing each other the National Pastime.

You can thank the US for turning Iraq into a worse place than it was under a dictator the US supported then turned on. USA all the way.

Now that Honey Huan’s essentially been retired and Duke been relegated to a minor character, Trff Bmzklfrpz is important because if he leaves, Duke’s role in this strip is essentially over. Duke never appears these days without Trff, does he?

If you are ignorant about the political situation in Iraq, maybe you should refrain from judging a whole people as deserving of torture and oppression.

Your description of the killings in Iraq are as appropriate as saying that the Boston marathon attacks were about “Americans killing Americans”. Technically true, but so incomplete as to be wrong.

The instability in Iraq comes in a large part from other countries pouring in weapons, fighters, suicide bombers and missionaries for their respective causes.

It is very, very difficult to pass from dictatorship or civil war to democracy, it is quite a bit easier to keep a democracy established over many decades and this has nothing to do with the people being deserving or not.

“Some folks just can’t handle freedom!” Sounds like the Republi-bagger motto.

I’ve met Iraqis who are now pining for Saddam, simpsonfan. Back then, you could rely on going to the market and returning home in one piece, you see.

As others have pointed out, please don’t presume to judge people without any knowledge of the facts.

I’d recommend reading Riverbend as a starting point…but only as a starting point.
