Stupidity multiplies. Assign each person in the group a number from 1 (Mr. Spock) to 10 (Gilligan) Multiply the number of each person to find the Total Group Stupidity Value.

    So the TGSV for Congress is 10 X 10 X 10…..535 times….

Of course, Emotional Intelligence Quotient an imaginary thing since emotion is not directly tied to intellect.
    -
Nonetheless, a properly working group is like a rope building on the cumulative strengths of each member, not weakened by any one’s particular weakness (unless he’s the boss, of course)

for example, one member of congress might know much about finance but little about law. That member might peform well on a finance committee. Some other congressman might know much about some other thing and work well on that subject.
    -
Others, having an intellect near that of truck drivers (per Tom Clancy) could probably learn enough to function well as long as they specialized.
    -
They just need to share the work load and trust each other.

lest ye think I’m cutting down truck drivers, I’m not, just saying congressmen didn’t seem to measure up to him.

I always pictured Mike as being successful, but here he’s shown not meeting one of my standards: work in a place with no fluorescent lighting.

I think this is the leadership team of the Doonesbury family business, meeting to discuss the performance of their business in the first quarter of the year. Mike somehow missed the memo, apparently, and just wandered in. I remember this, but the details are a little vague. Perhaps he’s more of a creative-team guy, while the ladies (these particular ones, anyway) are the numbers people, in which case they may not have sent him the memo.

See Panel 5, that is the panel showing lighting, other than monitors, and appears to be fluorescent.
