Delivery platform (for those who don’t know) is method by which web content is delivered:

@Newshound41 Thanks; I would never have thought to look it up. I just thought it was girl-slang for “birthing center.”

Combination of nerd talk and mom talk. The twins are going to have interesting childhoods.

    Not Mass General.

If you’re stuck in that end of Taxachusetts and you need a high-risk obstetrical/neonatal “delivery platform” (primipara multiple birth qualifies automatically as high-risk), you might better go with Brigham & Women’s instead.

Which center has the more favorable outcomes ratings in that specific category of cases?

“Just finishing up my doctorate. Not sure what comes next.”

Well, unless you’ve already got it done, writing and defending your dissertation is usually “what comes next.”

Given what Trudeau had been doing with this plot line over the past week and presently, however, “what comes next” is probably gonna be this highly-classified blanked-out DARPA project getting pantsed in Jeff’s “Red Rascal” sequel.

Definitely, although a friend of mine, years ago, was hit by a car in front of Mass General. Not expected to live, but they pulled him through. I live in NC. They say if you are on I-95 in NC and suffer a heart attack, do not go to a hospital until you can make it to I-440 and Duke. Just about any other hospital in NC especially in Onslow County and you are going to die.

Dunno about that. For the last 20 years or so, any dinky little community hospital Emergency Department can hit the patient in acute myocardial infarction with a “clotbuster” agent like TPA, implement antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy, and then get the patient to a center where definitive address of the ischemia can be undertaken.

Throughout my lifetime, the ACLS axiom has always been “Time is myocardium.”

I think it’s more likely that Alex will send a bunch of classified documents to Wikileaks to show her support for the sex offender.

More speculation on where Trudeau is going with recent weeks’ plot line.

Jeff is stonked on his sequel manuscript, reduced to living in his parents’ basement, probably having blown through the publisher’s advance (which is all most writers ever make on a book, what with publishers’ “creative accounting” practices diddling you out of other revenues supposedly guaranteed in the contract). He’s desperate for ideas, and would really like something to make of this manuscript the sort of best-seller that might get him over the threshold into big-money territory.

Alex stops over to visit with Jeff’s folks while in Mordor-on-the-Potomac for her highly classified meeting at DARPA on the top secret project her group at MIT has been completing, and she’d mentioned it to Jeff while going downstairs to do her laundry.

(Funny, ain’t it? You’d think a brief trip from Cambridge to Barad-dûr could be accomplished without generating a load of dirty clothes en route, wouldn’tcha?)

Jeff now knows that Alex is involved in something hush-hush, and it’s plausible that his training and experience has conferred upon him some hackerish tricks. Alex, being a thoroughly modern techno-geek, leverages all the goodies beloved of today’s computer users, including “cloud” capabilities accessible with confidence under secure encryption protocols.

“Secure” when the attentions of a curious critter like Jeff have been drawn thereunto?

Yeah, right. So Alex – like a good little grad student – has been working on the draft of her doctoral dissertation, wanting to have it finished and ready for defense before her estimated date of confinement (EDC). Up there in the “cloud” will be her outlines and preliminary work, the data files and other supporting materials (digital versions of journal and conference reprints, her team members’ reports, and all kinds of other wonky, secret stuff).

Jeff is lazy, but in certain ways he’s smart as hell, and he’s been established as somebody with a nose for actionable intelligence even though his proclivity to bollix such action is profound. He “human engineers” his way past Alex’s encryption scheme (knowing her as well as he does, and possibly picking his mom’s brain for additional information gained by way of “girl talk” the two have had during the recent campaign to slime Fauxcahontas into the U.S. Senate), and soon he’s reading through good stuff that nobody – especially the Department of Defense – ever wanted somebody like him to get eyes-on.

Wonder how this is gonna affect Alex’s prospects for ever getting a security clearance again, and therefore securing post-doctoral work in her discipline?

Er, “the sex offender”? In the Congress or freelance?
