"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

At the rate things are being planned they will stay safe as they use land, sea, undersea and air remotes to smote and smoke out any enemies of the USA both foreign and domestic.

The 6th panel: It’s taken me, what, three decades to realize that daughter looks just like her dad.

I’ve always preferred months myself. Four months, Mike. She had a pea in the pod when she married.

Meh. Mike is thinking about money.

Pea in the pod at the wedding is no big deal anymore. Hate the hypocrisy that pretends we’re still virgins when we marry. It was outdated last century and well-before that too, but it didn’t prevent our religious and governmental institutions from shaming and condemning the mothers and their children (but not the fathers, of course).

Why would it matter if she was married? I was born in the 40’s, and we weren’t that naive even then. I remember all the old excuses too — bicyc,le accident and that sort of thing. I wasn’t that naive when I got married either. I took a test drive more than once. I knew.

The fathers jobs are too 1: Supply ALL the money till heck freezes over, 2: Accept ALL the blame for everything that doesn’t go just perfect for mommy or the anklebiters, 3: Get belittled for not being around enough(see #1).
