    NOW we see da bump!

Now if she’d only lose that silly hairstyle she’s been holding onto for too, too long.

Now that’s a great Zonker look that Rick has on him. I just went through my pile of books & found a 1970 paperback comprising many of his of strips from 1970 – BD in VietNam & his meeting up with Phred, his VC (viet-cong-gah, never thought I’d have to explain VC) and their search food but found the jackpot instead: a dozen cases of beer. 40+ years of great strips. GT, many many thanks, thanks, thx…

Yeah, that would be real smart. Old guys with young wives/girlfriends have always been asking for trouble. Just look at Chaucer’s “The Miller’s Tale.” And remember what Ellen Ternan, Dickens’ young girlfriend, supposedly said about Charlie, “I so loathed the old man’s touch.”

I can only imagine what it must feel like to have someone hand you your Great Granddad membership card. I would feel ancient.

Surely you are being sarcastic about Joanie. Let bygones be bygones. In 1972, Joanie had an argument with her husband over her rights as a woman. She leaves him and hitches a ride with Mike Doonesbury and Mark Slackmeyer who were traveling cross country. JJ is her daughter from her first marriage and she feels incredibly guilty about having lost contact with her but soon reconciles. Joanie had to come along due to the times. She went to law school and worked for Lacey Davenport in Congress, another beloved character. Go Joanie!

I think Joanie is dwelling on the fact that the twit from yesterday mentioned in a round about way, that the Senator may have hired her because she IS old. So now Joanie has doubts about her worth to the Senator.

Who’s. Not whose. Whose = possessive. You want the contraction.

I wouldn’t bother, except you’ve gone ahead and called yourself “Linguist.”
