Just musing on previous comments about Alex’s looks, and Drew’s, and so forth….It’s ironic, isn’t it, that Alex – who still sports a random, untamed hairstyle to go with her complex, zany persona – has won the heart of a simple, and simply good, man. Complete, uncomplicated devotion! And in her own way, she gives every bit as good as she gets. Drew’s “perfect” looks get her a lot of the sort of attention that makes her want to run away. It will be fun to see how long it takes Alex to realize she’s a grownup now, and that it would be okay for her to look like one. Or maybe she’ll always see herself as belonging outside the “norm.” At any rate, she has a great family all around, and the twins will have a rich upbringing, regardless of income.

Interesting book – “The Millionaire Next Door”. I’m sure you’ll find it on Amazon or similar. Reports real-world experience in the USA of who REALLY has wealth, how they gained it (mostly “earned”) and how they keep it. I gave a copy to my son who has been fortunate enough to benefit from Australia’s mining boom to get him a headstart to some of the “wealthy” points in the posts yesterday.

Leo is also “Toggle,” an ex-troop who still goes around in his Army PT shirts, and the .50 caliber M-2 Browning heavy machine gun is known universally as “Ma Deuce.”
Drawing “a deuce” isn’t a bad thing if you think about it that way.

Trudeau’s maybe staying on script by deliberately drawing him naive. Alex, who’s probably unaware of the Browning’s nickname, seems to have found Leo’s naïveté attractive in earlier strips.
