"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

Now we know why Willard Rmoney lost. Voters were just too smart to fall for such a pants-on-fire whopper. John “the suppresser in chief” Boehner notwithstanding.

And yet the reality-crazed crowd continues to swallow the fiction and fantasy of the current administration. Give them a hand for constancy everyone.

reality ≠ “fiction and fantasy”

As a science-fiction fan, I always like to point out that we’ve got lots of practice telling the “science” part from the “fiction” part.

Ebenezer got actually converted and helped the cripple Tiny Tim and his family out. Give the Republicans a shot at a similar salvation? Before the Lord comes, that is?

Too TRUE! As the old saying goes “Reality is a Crutch for people who cannot handle Science Fiction.”
I’ve long held that Science Fiction subsumes ALL other Literary categories since it’s range is ALL of Time and ALL of Space.
Thus “Regency Romances” are that branch of Science Fiction that deal with the Social consequences of the economic dislocations consequent to the Industrial Revolution in England.
i.e. All those Mill-Owner’s Daughters trying to “marry-up” into Society", don’cha know.

Sorry, fiction is only one of many “literary categories” and if the category “science fiction” subsumes all other fiction, then what does the word “science” mean in its name? You may be able to argue that the fantasy genre subsumes all fiction because all fiction is fantasy, but then you are really only pointing out that the words are synonymous.
As an historian, I prefer the boast that history subsumes are all other human learning, as it is concerned with everything that mankind has done, made, learned, and produced, including mankind’s fantasies about the future. Every subject is best understood in the light of its history. ;-)

Doncha love how the Republicans want to run Congress, but don’t believe anything, even if it comes from the Congressional Research Service, that might conflict with their outmoded Dogma??
Kinda like that windbag Rush telling his sheeple listeners that he knows more about Climate Change then several thousand noted Scientists, and Climatologists!
Gotta love the Republicans, the party of Denial!!

I’m starting to believe that the source of global air pollution stems from Republican farts!

This is quite a parade. Just in time to watch on tv during the Thanksgiving holiday. I’m glad GT didn’t choose to depict the Black Friday crowds. What a mess!

Compared to the fiction of the Bush years, that nearly destroyed this country, I will gladly take the current administration.
