"Garry Trudeau is the premier American social and political satirist of his time." -Newsweek Doonesbury has managed to be articulate, abrasive, political, compassionate, misunderstood, misprinted, and outrageous - but one thing it's never been is complacent. Garry Trudeau's creation has chronicled American history and culture in a parallel universe. And through it all, Doonesbury has always been honest, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

Remember when Ike built the transportation infrastructure? Remember when Teddy Roosevelt built the parks system? Remember when Republicans thought about what was best for the country instead of what was best for the richest people in the country?
If they’d been thinking that way, I truly think we would not have to remember 9/11 today.

Remember when Nixon created the EPA and declared war on cancer? Even he had his good moments.

If Filth Clinton hadn’t been chasing skirts and taken the 1993 WTC bombing seriously, there might not have been 9/11 attacks. Many of the bureaucratic walls—ahem—erected between law enforcement agencies were his doing, to hide his many crimes and keep the dots from being connected. This was in the days before the Presidency was outsourced to an indonesian raised by marxists.

So I guess GT was so desperate for sales that he’s doing product placement in the strip.

“That there are men in all countries who get their living by war, and by keeping up the quarrels of nations, is as shocking as it is true; but when those who are concerned in the government of a country, make it their study to sow discord and cultivate predjudices between nations, it becomes the more unpardonable.”

yes, one freedom fighter is way too many. as i have heard, what you reap is what you sow. funny how it’s 9-11 and America is still the most fascist country in the world and has been for years. but Americans are still asleep and the ride is so much “fun.” except for those who pay for teh Rich to screw us all.
i hope Doonesbury changes tack soon. i am so tired of freedom fighters, freedom fries and surrender monkeys. teh whole syntax, language and concepts are soo yesterday.

We had a small TV in the office. The radio said something about a plane crash and I turned on the TV. When I saw the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower my first thought was that bush was going to declare martial law and cancel the constitution. Instead he told us all to go shopping. Wierd!

It’s funny that you take odds with one little typo and some awkward sentence structure, when I am amazed at Beleck3’s comparison of us with Nazi Germany. I don’t see any Black Shirts running around beating up Jews, Blacks, Gypsys or homosexuals. I was an officer in the USAF for 13 years and never saw any sign of the military planning a coup to turn us into a military state with a nonelected fuhrer. Where does Beleck3 come up with the idea that “America is still the most fascist country in the world . . .?”
