First the republicans obstruct government. People get angry and the republicans say the govenment is broken, vote for Romney so he can dismantle whatever is left.

Well, if the Democrats haven’t done anything, aren’t they the perfect party for those, like Grover Norquist, who want a do-nothing government? If they haven’t done anything, then aren’t they being good Republicans?

Or perhaps you think they actually have been doing things, and you just haven’t paid enough attention to know what. Maybe you should spend a little time finding out instead of reading the funny papers.

What have they done? Saved several million Americans from destitution, and enabled several million more to obtain health insurance who otherwise wouldn’t have it. Kept income taxes at their lowest level in generations when they could have let Bush’s temporary tax cuts expire, (and would make those cuts permanent for most people if the Republicans would let them). They have restored America’s reputation in the world (whether you agree with the world’s judgment or not). They have taken large steps in furthering the equal legal rights of all Americans, when the Republican platform explicitly states it is opposed to legal equality. … Those are the things that first come to mind.

Multiply 33 by 20.1818182, and you get 666. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Maybe we should be paying these guys like farm workers; pickers get paid by the pail of garlic, or the box of tomatoes. Peg their pay to the bills actually passed and signed by the President. Just a random thought…

“If ‘Pro’ and ‘Con’ Are opposites, does that make ‘Congress’ the opposite of ‘Progress’?”
Will Rogers asked it about 1932, and you can STILL ask it today!
It’s pretty sad when someone like Mitch McConnell states that the “Top Priority” for the Republicans in Congress is to be sure Obama is a “One-Term President”.
NOT to work on helping reduce the crippling Deficit burden, NOT to work on assuring Equal Rights for ALL CITIZENS,
    NOT to balance the budget,
NOT to help restore the crumbling infrastructure of our federal highways and bridges,
NOT to work towards restoring America’s Manufacturing base,
    Etc…Etc…Etc…
