Soldier: Hey, Mel! Good goin' on the E-5. Melissa: Thanks, Murph... Man: Hey, Mel! When's the big ceremony? Melissa: 1500 on the flight line. Hope you'll be there, Ned. Man: Heck, yeah! The whole team's coming! You're getting like, the first promotion in the unit! Wouldn't miss it! Except, do we have to like, shower? Woman: You're such a hillbilly, Ned. Melissa: No, no. Just be yourselves.
Wow Stebon, apparently you know all about every Army outpost due to your 3 years active duty. It’s funny too, because every month while I was in the desert in 2004-2005, the Army folks I worked with had a formation to honor advanced personnel and folks who received other meritorious note (good conduct medals, ArComs, etc.) I saw and participated in them even though I was Navy because it was for folks I worked with on a daily basis. And I also took part in similar ceremonies when I was a Navy Reservist drilling at Fort Dix. Perhaps you had several COs who didn’t care about the troops morale.
