On the nail, 3hourtour; started in 1930’s or 1940’s when NYT produced a glowing report on Stalin’s regime.

News has become about ratings, and ratings are money. The media now deliver a product for the mass audience. Sadly, enough people are buying it that they keep selling it.

President Taft was about as much a Lincoln Republican as his son (the Senator) grandson (the Senator) or great-grandson (disgraced Ohio governor). But more to the point, most scholars of Skull and Bones would add another famous Yalie to the list of members, from roughly the same generation as Dubya. Mr. G.B. Trudeau, hisself.

I was under the impression that Trudeau belonged to a rival secret society. (and how hard is it to type the words “secret society” without giggling like a school girl?)

Do you know all about Lincoln’s siblings that they ran in the offices? I don’t but I am very curious to know about their pasts. What happened with the disgraced Ohio governor? What did he do while he was as a governor for Ohio?

Dypak Thanks! You posted on the comment for Sunday comic for Doonesbury yesterday. Appreciated it. :-) Speaking of postage, they are full of crazily nuts about increasing the postage stamp in May 2009. I know that we all the people will not able to afford to buy the stamps after the cost for the postage goes up again! sheeshh! Gimme a break!

Roland had his couple plugs to get out the way and forgot about the Kerry/Bush club, besides nobody really cares. Great Toon, Garry.

Wildmustang: Bob Taft (great-grandson of President Taft) got into trouble for failing to disclose golf outings and other gifts he received from lobbyists. See this article for more info:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/17/AR2005081701209.html

Bob Taft’s father, Robert Taft Jr., was a generally lackluster U.S. Senator from Ohio. His father, Robert Taft, served in the Senate with more distinction, and was known as “Mr. Republican”.

This article on the Taft dynasty includes links to entries on each of the men mentioned above, as well as many more:
