Garry may be a little cynical, but as far back as I can remember,
Elmont’s always been like that…and anyone who has dealings with homeless people (I work in a downtown urban church) knows that Elmont doesn’t fall far from the tree…
Orgelspieler said, 5 months ago
True that. Borderline insane, somewhat aggressive, but otherwise quite a nice guy.

If Elmont wasn’t homeless, he probably wouldn’t be crazy.
Er, if he wasn’t crazy, he probably wouldn’t be homeless?
Orgelspieler said, 5 months ago
Why does Elmont remind me so strongly of Uncle Stupidhead (Zeke)? I wonder…

As stated by many above, a large part of the homeless population suffers from some sort of mental illness. They can’t be forced to take meds or to go in for treatment,so they wander the streets.

Hey, remember that those homeless people are human beings!
Orgelspieler said, 5 months ago
There’s a whole bunch of kinds of people who are human beings. In fact, the category of “human beings” includes a large majority, but probably not all, of the people living on earth at any given time.

I’m always impressed with how up on current culture these two were. I don’t think my sainted mother knows what an Indy project is, and she has her own home.
