Reality TV affects us in serious and insidious ways….

If only. Palin wouldn’t have made it past the third episode on reality TV unless the network rigged the show. Attractive & annoying people ARE good for ratings.

My brother sent me a photo of a “Dancing with the Stars” contestants with Obama’s and Palin’s faces juxtaposed over the real ones. Anyone else see it?

So, I’m not the only one who thought the campaign had that American Idol quality. Quo vadis, America?
Akenta said, about 1 year ago
I remember a while ago (maybe for this election) there was talk of an American Idol type show to get an candidate on the ballot. Would have been interesting to watch. Maybe.

Akenta,
That was a movie with Hugh Grant and Dennis Quaid called “American Dreamz”. Worth renting.

Akenta, the outcome would have been better than the REAL election.

Reality *TV* is not
Real.
Nipponkid said, about 1 year ago
Really Gweedo? I could have sworn i saw someone eating a rotten egg for $50k, Trump getting his @$$ kissed for a job, and tons of geeks hitting on some supermodels the other day.

Better they vet the candidates by having them go on Jeopardy.

Great idea, wndrwrthg! I’ll take Foreign Policy for $300, Alex.

I sure did, Susan. Then there was a recent State of the Union comic where Obama has a nightmare about making Palin his vice president…

John McCain did win on “Jeopardy!” back in 1965.

Susan, must have been something one of the Late Night Television Comedians did.
Susan001 said, about 1 year ago
Back in ‘72, MAD Magazine did an article called “If the President was Chosen Like Miss America”. Today, that could be updated to “If the President was Chosen Like a Reality Show Winner”.
Makes juat about as much sense.

Gosh, it’s like that idiot you always see on reality TV come to life. Wait, is that the actual dictionary definition of Sarah Palin?
cwcarlson said, about 1 year ago
Too bad Garry believes everything he reads in liberal papers. Now it comes out that the negative reports from the papers were fabricated.
