Joanie: It's all in Latin, of course, but I've been assured that this and a passing grade on the bar will actually allow me to practice law! Isn't it exciting, Zonk? Three years ago, I was a renegade housewife with a shattered past! Now I'm a law school graduate with a shiny, brand-new future! Not bad, huh? I mean, the kid's about due for a bow, no? Zonker: Glip! Joanie: Hello? Zonker: Hello. I am in shock. Please call my parents.
The only problem I have with Joanie is that she abandoned her children. She left her husband because he was a complete arse; fine. How on earth do you leave your children to be raised by someone like him?! I have 2 children; they’re 17 and 19 now, but I could never have just walked out on them when they were younger. I get walking out on the husband if he’s a creepo (I’m very fortunate to have a wonderful husband and we’ve been married for 22 years) but to walk out and never even see your little ones again is just plain WRONG!!
