Talk is cheap. Let’s remember those who act on their convictions:
L.H. Oswald, Communist
Sirhan Sirhan, Palestinian Separatist
Theodore Kaczynski, tree hugger
Weather Underground, Socialists
Symbionese Liberation Front, Socialists
Earth Liberation Front, tree huggers
et.al.

ANandy: You forgot:
Timothy McVeigh, militia nut (who killed far more than all of your examples put together)
Scott Roeder, “pro-life” murderer
James Kopp, “pro-life” murderer
Eric Rudolph, “pro-life” terrorist/bomber
John Salvi, “pro-life” murderer
Michael Griffin, “pro-life” murderer
James Earl Ray, white supremacist
etc., etc.

fennec thank you. I missed that column in my local rag, if it was published. Friedman is rock solid American.

I refrained from saying this before; but it’s more likely that some dis-affected American Muslim will off Obama out of disgust than some crazy good-ole boy cracker will stake out Obama for trying to pass universal health-care. If such a thing would happen, God Forbid it, the right would never be able to recover if they were considered in any way responsible.
ANandy said, about 1 month ago
Consider the very real possibility that those expecting “hope and change” and realizing none are responsible for much of the lunatic raving.
Those having unrealized expectations are most disturbed in my circle of acquaintances.

Prof, expecting your knee-jerk reaction, I saved the best for last: Mohammed Atta, et al, authoritarian state terrorists

Nandy gets beaten again. Nice job, Prof.
And Nandy, bringing up religious fundamentalist Atta doesn’t help your argument.
parkersinthehouse said, about 1 month ago
wow anandy you are one of only two posters who use the term “tree hugger”
ezdeb said, about 1 month ago
Prof, excellent reply.
Pup, you refrained for a good reason. Too bad you didn’t keep refraining.
ezdeb said, about 1 month ago
Dodge, look away, squint, blame, justify all you want. The dots DO connect, righties.
How many tree huggers have killed ideological opponents? How many shock jock TV or radio personalities that represent hippie tree huggers make millions inciting violence and suspicion of fellow Americans? None. They are ALL right wing. Sorry, but facts DO have a liberal bias.

Mr. Wright,
Are all “right wing conservative talking heads on TV and radio” ranting lunatics, or just the right wing conservative ones?

Sure, Tigger, tell us all about the liberal groups calling for Obama to be assassinated.

^ Going back to when the prez of the US was a Republican, I also seem to recall liberal folks asking that GWBush not be assassinated as that would mean Cheney would then be president. Not that would have made any difference since Cheney was probably already running the show. ;-)

“Know your enemies”: You people don’t even know your friends.
I also refrained from saying “Black” Muslim- which, I believe our beltway sniper was…and the terrorist ring busted in Canada/Louisiana?, New Jersey, etc. I believe I can say with a certain amount of authority that should an attempt on the Potus’ life occur (God Forbid!) - it will be from an enraged, disappointed, and loyal adherent to global JIHAD. Extract yourself from your personal political bias and hate and you will see that I’m right. But, my point is not that it will happen; but that you libs are out of your collective minds if you think you can keep pinning a non-existent assassination on your political rivals! (We on the right had to put up with you disrespectful Libs making a movie about killing Pres. George Bush - I do not remember an incessant, whining outcry from the right).
Take a shower, already! Find something good to read - you need to calm down, Libs!
ezdeb said, about 1 month ago
Pup, I went and took my shower. Now will you attempt to answer the friggin’ question??
How many tree huggers have killed ideological opponents? How many shock jock TV or radio personalities that represent hippie tree huggers make millions inciting violence and suspicion of fellow Americans? Name away.
Corosive Frog said, about 1 month ago
Anyday, there is still some controversy about Oswald’s ideology. Don’t forget he was clearly friends with George de Morenschild, a russian exile and rabbid anti-communist. Also, his brief sejour in Russia, his come back with bascically no questions asked is fishy.
I didn’t take that from the Oliver Stone film, he was the source of the famous paper-and-rifle-in-backyard picture of Lee Harvey Oswald.

When was I nailed to the tree? I do recall tree-huggers spiking trees which could result in the deaths of lumbermen far into the future…
The question is irrelevant. EZDEB ( with Prof. Fake’s post) again ties the violent extremism of a few individuals to the beliefs of an entire segment of the population; regardless of the non-violent position of that segment or segments.
Maybe the Dems in power should consider whether their actions are indeed indefensible and prone to legitimate resistance? They are, after all, there to represent the Nation of America as defined by the Constitution, in regards to the legality of their actions while in office.

Yes, Cor Frog, Lee Harvey Oswald’s mixed up beliefs points out that political confusion is attractive to individuals with imbalanced emotional and reasoning faculties.

ezdeb said, about 1 month ago
And, pup, as to the only substantive bit of your reply; I did not say that all righties are violent. I said that the overwhelming majority of insane violent people who kill others are right wingers. There’s a difference.
Are you stoned? You sound pretty paranoid.

Hey bullwinkle you forget we are IN AMERICA! The chances of some muslim crank getting to the president are low.
But a white, racist, moonshine sucking, liberal hating, gun-toting, christian right leaning mugwump coming at the president is more than likely to happen.
Matter of fact I wouldn’t put it past any of you right wingers to be plotting his demise right now.
fennec said, about 1 month ago
It isn’t really bullwinkle yo’re answering, it’s NoFearPup etc., who stole bullwinkle’s screen name. The real senorbullwinkle is a liberal.
cdward said, about 1 month ago
Can we all agree that anyone who threatens, plans or even suggests the death of the president is at the very least immoral and most likely illegal. Certainly unpatriotic. Can we all agree that inciting violence against another in any way is wrong?
Then, if we see any indication of this whatsoever, can we agree to call them out on it?

I’m cool with that, but no one asked me. ;-)
NoFearPup

cdward: No, because people have different ideas of what those criteria are, as evinced by the aforementioned Lib Bush-assassination Movie.
Just relax Libs and take a breather; it takes more than wishing to move a radical agenda through Congress. In fact, get used to the idea now - that you just might lose.

“Outright bigots, homophobes, skinheads, militia members, all these groups (and they represent -Hundreds- of subgroups) are prone to violence and affiliated with the GOP. Just admit it, right-wingers, hatred is THE weapon of choice for the GOP”. Defend them if you can, right wing.

What groups of violent Libs/Left-wingers are targeting selected members of the GOP, Howgoz? Let me know which of the groups listed above or in the FBI report is associated with “hate speech” on the left or provide an example of ANY left wing “hate speech”. Think the FBI is biased, Howgoz?
Name the Liberal/Dem. violent hate groups, Howgoz. Victims?
There are none.
Try table 8, reads like a right-wing hit list. These statistics are generally about 25% higher than shown on the tables over the following year, specifically related to 2 of the right wing’s favorite targets, Anti-Muslim and Gay abuse.
Membership in “Hate Groups” is also much higher, up about 54% in the last year compared to 2000.
Notice that the tables are only “Reported” incidents, estimates are generally much higher otherwise.

^Eric Holder’s FBI? BTW, M Kitt, my attempt to install xubuntu7.01 failed again (I tried several boot sequences- specifically my xxx.iso disc would not engage - I think I’m going to try to access it again though (I can get to it in “unzipped” form on CD, but it wont boot, either). I’m also going to try copying xubuntu9.04 iso and/or knoppix iso to my USB on my school’s system and then bring it home…

The report was produced in 2007, Published 2008. Not Holder’s report, No Dice :-)
Don’t know your’ background or familiarity with hardware, Pup. Are you familiar with burning ISO files to CDs?
All of the “Images” I’ve used come in the ISO format, disc burning software normally recognizes those files and will allow you to burn them to “bootable” CDs. Nero software does certainly, what I’ve got installed on my Windows PC.
The key is having the program menu ask whether you’d like to burn a disc “Image”, since that’s what the ISO format really is.
If you need to burn that CD on another PC it’s not that big an issue, what about being able to boot from a CD, any issues you’ve had with that particular PC? Think I mentioned before that you may need to change the “Boot” sequence, newer PCs will typically ask what you’d like to do WHILE booting but my 2000 P3 doesn’t.
Something else, Ubuntu is up to version 9.1, if you install 7.0+ you’re likely to have compatibility/sofware support issues.
