Twitter, by its very nature, is unverifiable in many cases. Your last item is still very present. Also, in the case of twitter, the originator of the lie often goes unknown.

Typical case of delusion. Drought , climate change, and poor management have made FOREST SERVICE (not “parks” though some ARE affected) areas subject to beetle invasions, which in some ecotypes are part of the cycle in the system to begin with. Lack of prescribed fire, and actual thinning not disguising harvest of “cream’ trees, was fought for decades by the timber industry, NOT environmental groups and forest managers. Most “life” (by species diversity) in our forests is actually in the SOIL, not the trees.
Sorry, but the fraudulent press has come from “conservative” sources and timber industry paid “letters to the editor” and editorials to push for cut now, cut everything.

My beautiful northern forests are decimated by pine beetles due to our warmer and warmer winters not killing them off. If you doubt global warming, check them out.

What the heck is so sacred about newspapers. They are a complete waste of valuable trees. Their time is gone and they are like buggy whips – a thing of the past. I am so sick and tired of people treating them as if they are immortal and we can’t live without them

Perhaps, sat’, but they also strove for journalistic standards that are currently lacking on Internet reporting, and that’s why I still indulge.

My tastes run to the CBC and Canadian newspapers, but I have seen those you mentioned. Some Canadian “newspapers” have also found audiences appealing to the lowest common denominator of the great unwashed. Still read both left and right wing Internet offerings; trying to get all sides.
