If conservative stem cells could talk they’d be saying “Tax cuts for the rich” or “Spending freeze” or “No same-sex marriages”…

Hey, if you consider them blobs, it’s much easier to murder them…stems and fetus’s

^ A twig has more cells than a human embryo, how come they don’t have rights?
motivemagus said, 8 months ago
And if they are blobs, etocme, what then? As I’ve noted before, you probably shed more living cells than can be found in an early-stage blastocyst. Pull out a hair at the roots, you’ve got a hair cell. Should you be convicted of murder?

geeze louise, Benson is reaching to the heights of ridiculousness with this one … if stem cells could talk, conservative or otherwise, they wouldn’t be speaking English because it would be on another planet in another universe

This is plain stupid. And @etocme: it is no more murder than cutting my hair is. Perhaps we should start arresting men who ‘spill their seed’ too? Those might have been babies!
I also love the whole ‘protect the babies’ arguments from people who then have no problem sending them off to war. So you would have us force them to be born, and then make them be condemned to hell for all eternity because they’ve killed actual human beings. The whole debate is inane.
Talk about a slippery slope. First it’s calling embryos children, next it’s calling ova and spermatozoa ‘proto-children’ and before you know it you’ve got religious fascism in place.
Funny how that ‘slippery slope’ game works both ways… Live your religion in your own life and leave the rest of us the heck alone.
Ugh - this subject does nothing but cause rants. Regardless of the topic - this panel is just dumb.

curiousity, yes this is plain stupid. This subject brings out some of the worst in us (people). I don’t want anyone’s beliefs crammed down my throat and I don’t want to cram my beliefs down anyone’s throat. You believe what you believe, I believe what I believe. Let’s just leave it at that.

Stem cells are not human life. At best, they are potential life, and that does not have the same value. Was on an Orthodox Jewish educational site where they mentioned that abortion itself is acceptable (an in cases required) because until “quickening” which is well after nearly all abortions would take place, the fetus is potential life, not human life itself.

Good point! I hadn’t heard this argument before.

What do you do with stem’s and seed’s.
SQUIDBREAKER said, 8 months ago
Embryonic stem cell research is an abomination before HaShem. It is murder, along with any abortion. Let every keep their own hand in life they’ve been given and DEAL with it. If you vote for people who are for abortion (like Obama) you are party to a crime.
