    re: Al S, a couple of days ago.
    .
    The government violated the constitution with the internments. FDR broke the 4th, 5th, 6th, 13th, and 14th Amendments in doing so. It would make sense if Takei spoke against FDR, not the constitution that FDR violated.
    .
    The German Americans, Italian Americans, and Japanese Amerians so interned (in order of numbers, both German and Italian Americans were interned in FAR greater numbers) lost everything. But only the Nisei received any compensation, despite all having to start over with nothing.
    .
    Takei is a piece of work. A country gives him so much and he hates it. Like a spoiled kid. Not uncommon in hollywood, though.

    My neighbor has to use a flea comb but hen her dogs have a home while does not. When I mentioned this strip to her the first question she asked was ‘Is he neutered?’

    Wrong time and wrong strip. Some people forgot that citizens of the United States can criticize the government without prosecution. It sounded like a Japanese decedent objected to the treatment that his ancestors experienced just like the decedents of those who were ‘forced’ to migrate to the Americas.

    He’s responding to the responses to HIM from this strip from two days ago. He doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of being able to go back and respond directly to them.

    You lost me on the first sentence, but I got the second sentence. I think the comments box hiccuped?

    When the comicsdotcom portion of Gocomics was its own place you got email notification from a comic you talked at; could have been two weeks previous but at least it helps you keep a conversation going, in its place. Granted, Nab could have referred Al S. to the strip in question, but his mention of the topic clues others in who may want to go back and see the discussion.

    Nabuquduriuzhur never backs up his “claims”. He hits and runs off until the next strip tomorrow.

    Sad to say, I have seen that pattern too.

    Birds eat fleas? I guess it makes sense since they eat all insects.

    @Nabuquduriuzhur

    Oh, Nabby, what are we to do with you. Takei did not “speak against the Constitution,” he spoke against those who violated the Constitution. Listen to HIS words, not what Fox tells you he said.
    .
    Also, you stated that, "…in order of numbers, both German and Italian Americans were interned in FAR greater numbers…)
    .
    As usual, you have it EXACTLY backwards. Who told you that, and why do you believe them? Did you fact-check?
    .
    “A total of 11,507 Germans and German-Americans were interned during the war, accounting for 36% of the total internments under the Justice Department’s Enemy Alien Control Program, but far less than the 110,000 Japanese-Americans interned.” (Tetsuden Kashima, Judgment without trial: Japanese American Imprisonment during World War II (University of Washington Press, 2003), ISBN 0-295-98299-3, 124, as cited in Wikipedia).
    .
    As for Italian-Americans – fewer than 5,000 were actually interned (http://www.italianhistorical.org/page19a.html).
    .
    And “However, unlike Japanese-Americans, only citizens of Italy were detained.” (Brooke, James, August 11, 1997. “An Official Apology Is Sought From U.S.”. The New York Times, available at http://www.nytimes.com/1997/08/11/us/an-official-apology-is-sought-from-us.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm).
    .
    110,000 Japanese-Americans interned. 10% of that number of German-Americans interned, most for no more than weeks. 5% of that number of Italians interned (NOT Italian-Americans). And they were evicted from the country.
    .
    And both the German-Americans and Italian received due process — they got individual hearings, and then were either released or deported. That’s one reason they received no compensation.
    .
    And yet, the root of your argument is that you don’t like George Takei because of something he never said. Good grief.

    I’ve dealt with Nebbuk a number of times at the Endtown strip. He’s a religious nut who thinks his “facts” are the only valid ones that exist. Your information is a great response. Too bad he probably won’t ever read it.

    @mr_sherman

    I’ve encountered him in several strips, and try as I might, can’t help responding to his more egregious misstatements and pontifications.
    .
    He’s consistent, at least. Consistently incorrect in presenting made-up facts. If he were to tell me it was pouring outside, I’d look out the window before I picked up my umbrella, knowing there was an 80% chance I’d need sunscreen instead. Ah, well……
