    If Doug grows up to be as wise as Sophie, he’ll turn out OK

    Is that a hawk ? I had a funny thing happen to me Brian…While watching TV, I looked over to the front door and there was a sparrow hawk on the front porch, looking in the screen door…I said, " Hey, hi there…what’s ya doing here ?"…While I kept talking to him he just stayed…so I tried to get a photo but it didn’t turn out that clear through the screen..but it was sure a fun experience…

    Great rendition of a hawk.
    It’s enough to turn Sophie poetic.

    Just checked the hawk nest over at Cornell U on another tab. It’s raining there (poor little wet nestlings (and their parents))

    I seem to get an annual visit from a hawk (either sharp-shinned or Cooper’s). S/He stayed for a couple days last time – probably getting easy meals because of my habit of feeding birds and squirrels. I guess I’m feeding him/her too…

    Would you give up your arms to fly?

    @Meowlin

    How great is that…I’ve only seen this one up close… I did see a red tail one years ago when we had fields around us…I think he was injured a bit… he stayed a couple of days then was gone…We had Tele. wires around and sometimes large birds would hit them at night when it was real windy…You are sure lucky to see your visitor
