Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

OK, Brian….that took a minute to figure out- was Sophie being swept away by the force of the sneeze?…..or was she running for cover?…..no, I see she is going for the long pass!
Good one!

Sophie is like my dog, she’ll catch the rubber bone any way she can.

worth running into a wall for a sneeze toss!

Is Sophie running toward Doug (who’s presumably eating something Sophie wants a taste of)? She’s blown back into the wall behind her?

I think it must be like getting the snot knocked of you and biting your tongue.

@JK1
In the fourth panel, she has turned to catch the food that Doug sneezed – she was running to get into position to catch it. :-) Like Cygnus X1 said it is a little gross . . . funny though at the same time.

As a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, I can assure you that a baby can eat, cough, sneeze, vomit, fart, and crap their diaper — all at the same time.

Thanks for the explanation…couldn’t quite grasp it.

@blunebottle (in response to a comment yesterday)
.
One need beware of cats only if one is unable – or unwilling – to treat them with kindness and respect. Of course, that respect must be on their terms, not just yours.
.
If you’re unwilling to do that, then yes… you had best beware of cats.
